About Southwest Conservatory of Music, Fountain Valley
Southwest Conservatory of Music is a music school located in Fountain Valley, California. We offer group and private music lessons to students of all ages and levels. We are dedicated to providing the best possible music education to our students. Our teaching staff includes highly qualified university trained teachers, who are not only trained in music performance, but also experienced as music teachers. Several of our teachers are members of state and national music teacher associations, such as the MTAC and the American College of Musicians, giving our students the opportunity to participate in evaluations and competitions sponsored by those organizations. Our teaching studios are professional, spacious and well equipped with quality instruments including grand pianos for all piano students. We are located in Fountain Valley, near the corner of Brookhurst and Ellis, approximately 1/2 mile south of the 405 freeway.
Music Lessons
Private Lessons
We provide private instruction on most musical instruments, including piano, violin, cello, voice, guitar, bass guitar, flute, piccolo, trumpet, baritone, trombone, saxophone, clarinet, music composition and music theory. We offer group instruction on many of the instruments as well, and will be adding some vocal ensembles to our programs this fall, including a show choir and children's choir. Students regularly participate in annual music evaluations, such as the Certificate of Merit Program and the National Guild auditions as well as biannual studio music recitals. Students also have the opportunity to participate in our own in-house music student evaluation the Performance Exam, where they are evaluated on music performance, technique, and sight reading.
Group Lessons
Group lessons are available on piano, voice, guitar and in music theory. The group music lessons are kept small in size in order to give each music student more individual attention. Ensemble classes are also available and include the Rock Band Classes, Show Choir, Children's Choir, and Keyboard Orchestra Class, where the students learn how to perform with each other.
